Been very lazy today. It was the first day in a while that I didn't make a list of things to do before I finished my coffee.
Here is a sampling of what I found on the internet today. I don't remember what I began searching for, but I had an interesting ride.
A movie is being made about a supposedly haunted vacant lot in my hometown. I discovered that by searching "Elgin" on IMDB. The eventual results led me to a page with all of the actors, writers, crew members, directors and critics born in Elgin, Illinois. Some I had heard of such as Bruce Boxleitner and Tom Shales. Others interested me because they were close to my age. Some I just glanced at to see if I had seen any of their films. I clicked on one name and saw that his film was supposed to be released this year. It interested me mostly because my husband recently has been obsessing on wishing he had a telephone to communicate with the dead. (a thought that disturbs me) I did a search on "The Second Line" and found an interview that mentioned a site I had been to before that discussed hauntings in Elgin. (In fact I have two stories to send to the people who run that site)
I also think that someone with whom I grew up is listed on that page of people who were born in Elgin. His family lived on a street behind mine and the many boys of the family would play in the yard behind mine. They were all named with names beginning with "D" and once the baby ate some wild mushrooms or toadstools and had his stomach pumped. His younger brother, Darrell lived down the street from my mom and dad, I think. I mostly remember Darrell becauase he used to work at a liquour store I frequented in my early twenties.
Interesting things you can find while being very lazy and playing on the internet all day.
